Last Lantern
A brand and website for a Pacific Northwest firm, from the first palette to the request form.

Why it exists
A Pacific Northwest firm needed its website to feel like home: the water, the peaks, the last light of the day. It also had to do a back office's job, since there isn't one, and get each client's request to the owner without anyone sorting a queue.
What it does
- Visitors land on a painted dusk, a lamp lit at a house on the shore with two peaks beyond, and it's repainted for each season. Around it, the palette is paper, dusk, berry and lamp gold.
- When someone asks for help, the owner hears about it right away. The form keeps bots out with Cloudflare Turnstile and sends each request straight to the owner's inbox.
- The site stays quick and readable for everyone, because no page ships until it passes the gates: the largest paint under 2.5 seconds, layout shift under 0.1, and axe accessibility checks.
Under the hood
There are no packages to install and no framework to keep current. A plain Node build makes the pages, and a Cloudflare Worker serves them. The words live in content files, so changing one never means touching code.
